Another Year at Wizard World Philadelphia

Wizard World Philadelphia

Even though I’ve been attending Wizard World Philadelphia regularly for the last five years, it’s not one of my favorite conventions.

There are a few reasons I keep going to it.

  • Location. It’s less than 30 minutes away from my house.
  • Friends. Some that stay with me as fellow fans, some that are at the convention as professionals, and some that I run into at the con itself.
  • Comics. Conventions are a relatively inexpensive way of filling in blanks in my comic collection.
  • Art. I have a huge weakness for art. I have no wall space, and yet I keep buying more. Continue reading

Philadelphia Comic Con – May 31, June 1-3, 2012

This past weekend I attended Wizard World Philadelphia, or Philadelphia Comic Con, depending on who you ask. It wasn’t my first year attending, I’ve been to this particular convention twice previously. Philadelphia Comic Con hasn’t been my favourite convention, but it’s practically in my backyard, so I continue to go each year. Some years I’ve decided to attend because of the guest list, sometimes it’s the panels, sometimes it’s just because a friend suggests it. This year however, despite the amazing list of guests (including all five Star Trek captains!), I truly wanted to attend because of the comics. In particular, the artists.
